1. Installation services

Scope of work: AWTUK will install and provide window film to the designated windows outlined in the contract. Film specifications, dimensions, and characteristics shall be established during the initial consultatation phase. These processes guarantee a mutual understanding regarding the products and services which will be delivered.

Additional work: Tasks not expressly included within this contract fall beyond the parameters of this installation agreement. Should supplementary procedures or modifications to the installation become necessary throughout the installation process, this could lead to extra costs.

2. Installation timing

Scheduled time: The installation shall occur within the timeframe communicated during the quotation process. We will always try to our best degree to maintain this timeframe. However, AWTUK cannot be held accountable for delays resulting from unforeseen circumstances including adverse weather, equipment malfunction, or issues with transportation.

Completion time: Installation duration most often ranges from 1-6 hours, subject to the project’s size and difficulty. Be aware that precise timing can fluctuate, with variables such as installation scale or conditions of the location potentially affecting the timeframe.

3. Warranty and Guarantees

Product Warranty: Window films fitted by AWTUK are covered by manufacturer warranties. Warranty duration and type is dependent on the specific product selected. Warranty details will be supplied during installation to maintain complete transparency.

Installation Warranty: AWTUK provides up to a 10-year guarantee on installation craftsmanship. This guarantee addresses defects or problems which stem directly from faults within the installation process. Nevertheless, this guarantee excludes damage from external causes including accidents, improper use, or negligence.

Exclusions: The guarantee excludes damage or performance issues which stem from improper maintenance of the window film, cleaning with harsh materials, or customer alterations to the window film. Following appropriate care guidelines is crucial for ensuring durability and performance of the film provided.

4. Maintenance and Care

Product Warranty: Following installation, air bubbles, water bubbles or a cloudiness can sometimes appear in the film. This is expected and will naturally resolve during the film’s curing process. The curing phase may extend up to 100 days. Throughout this period, windows should not be cleaned in order to allow for proper curing to occur.

Inspection after the curing period: Should water spots or bubbles persist beyond the curing phase, we will be happy to return to examine the film, evaluate the circumstances, and implement the appropriate measures.

Cleaning Instructions: Beyond the curing period, you may clean the window film using a non-abrasive cloth and non-ammonia-based window cleaner. This will maximise the appearance and lifespan of the film

Avoid harmful cleaning materials: To ensure the film isn't damaged, do not use: solvents, scourers, rough sponges, or abrasive cleaners. These can scratch or degrade the film's integrity. Always use gentle cleaning methods to ensure the lifespan of the window film.

5. Cancellation and rescheduling

Cancellation policy: If cancelling your appointment is a necessity, please notify us at least 48 hours before the scheduled installation. Cancellations made within 48 hours of the appointment may lead to a £50 cancellation fee.

Rescheduling: If rescheduling your appointment is necessary, please note that this is subject to our availability. We will do the best to accommodate your needs, but we cannot always guarantee an alternative date.

6. Liability

General Liability: AWTUK is not liable for damages or loss that may occur as a result of the installation, apart from those covered under the warranty provisions outlined above.

Pre-Existing Conditions: We will always take the utmost care during installation, however, AWTUK is not responsible for any pre-existing conditions of your windows or surrounding areas, such as cracks, chips, uneven silicone, damaged seals, scratches or structural issues that may be discovered during the installation. If the windows or frames are damaged, uneven, or improperly installed, we will apply the film to our best degree. Unfortunately, we cannot be held responsible for any imperfections in the final finish caused by existing conditions. The quality of the installation is directly affected by the condition of the glass and frame, we cannot guarantee a flawless result on damaged or defective surfaces.

7. Website Terms of Use

Acceptance of Terms: By accessing and using the AWTUK website, you adhere to comply with all pertinent laws and regulations, in addition to these terms of use.

Intellectual Property: The content within the website, which includes text, pictures, logos, and design choices, is classified as property of AWTUK and receives copyright law protection. Unauthorized usage or reproduction of all content is restricted.

Usage Restrictions: Content from our website must solely be used for non-commercial purposes. If anything is used past these parameters, you must gain written approval from AWTUK.

Website Accuracy and Liability: AWTUK gives no representations or warranties which regard the accuracy or content completeness of its website. We accept no liability for damages, losses, or errors which are a result of website usage or content reliance.
